    Description

    Hubbell / Metron 1804A-12 Starter Solenoid that was removed off of a facility's diesel engine fire pump during decommissioning. This unit is basically a 12 volt relay with an emergency engagement lever in the case that coil voltage fails. According to manufacturer's website, the maximum contact voltage for this device is 30 volts DC. Electrical characteristics were tested, as seen in photos, with an ohm meter. Switch shows full continuity when lever engaged, and fully open when lever released. Coil voltage is 1.4 ohms.
